அஸ்வின் செய்த மான்கட் அவுட்டைவிட மோசமான அவுட், இங்கிலாந்து விக்கெட் கீப்பர் பென் ஃபோக்ஸ் செய்த ஸ்டம்பிங்தான் என கிரிக்கெட் ரசிகர்கள் கடுமையாக விமர்சித்துள்ளனர்.

அயர்லாந்தின் டப்லினில் நகரில் இங்கிலாந்து - அயர்லாந்து கிரிக்கெட் அணிகள் மோதிய ஒரேயொரு ஒரு நாள் போட்டி நடைபெற்றது. போட்டி நடந்த மைதானத்தில் நிலவிய ஈரப்பதம் காரணமாக ‘டாஸ்’ போடுவதில் தாமதம் ஏற்பட்டது.

இதனால், போட்டி 45 ஓவர்களாக குறைக்கப்பட்டது. இதில் டாஸ் வென்ற இங்கிலாந்து அணி பீல்டிங் தேர்வு செய்தது. முதலில் பேட்டிங் செய்த அயர்லாந்து அணி 43.1 ஓவர்களில் 198 ரன்களுக்கு ஆல் அவுட்டானது. அடுத்துக் களமிறங்கிய இங்கிலாந்து அணி, 4 விக்கெட்டுகள் வித்தியாசத்தில் வெற்றி பெற்றது.



இந்தப் போட்டியில் அயர்லாந்து அணியின் பேட்டிங்கின்போது ஆன்டி பால்பிரினியை, இங்கிலாந்து விக்கெட் கீப்பர் பென் ஃபோக்ஸ் ஸ்டம்பிங் அவுட் செய்தார். அதில், கிரீஸுக்குள் இருந்த பால்பிரினி தனது காலை தரையில் இருந்து மேலே தூக்கும்வரை காத்திருந்து ஃபோக்ஸ் ஸ்டம்பிங் அவுட் செய்தார்.

Ben Foakes stumping was a disgrace - much bigger than Ashwin's actions. Here there was a willing actor waiting for batsman to lift his leg much after the actual transaction of the ball got over. Reminds me of Alec stewart's antics. Surprised with the pindrop silence from pundits
